This week, the Vineyard got thank you notes from the school we helped out as part of our Generation Next project. There are a couple of them that stand out from the rest of the missives:

Dear friends,
I'm so very happy you helped my school. ...
I'm glad that people like you are here and care so very much. You are great. We can all use every thing. I was so very cool, nice. I just thought it was great like you. Thanks again.

And another one,

I just wont (sic) to say thank you for all the supplies. I bet the other classes thank you to (sic). Out of all the School you are the only church thats dun (sic) this for us. We are really thankful for what you did, and God is happy for what you did for us.

Of course, there are the occasional sentimental malapropisms.

Because of that, my church is coming over there but I have to talk to my pastor and his wife and the menisters (sic), and I needed that 5 subject book and your church is good.

They'll all bring a smile to your face, and I hope that you, the reader, don't think I'm being my normal sarcastic self. The train-of-thought honesty that kids possess is refreshing.

However, if there can be a clear winner in the self-esteem game, it's this kid:

Dear Vineyard Christian Fellowship,
Ya'll are great people, and ya'll supplied up with great things. I had suppies (sic) but not that many. I will come to your chirch (sic) and I will lisetn. thankyou for all the great things ya'll probably know me I am a football player I play for little leage. (sic) I like the suppiles (sic) the Notebooks. The ruelers (sic) all the stuff.

The irony of that one? The kid's last name is "Meeks". No relation.
